The conversion of the DisplayPort interface of a laptop or workstation to a dual-link DVI port requires the following adapters. One end of the adapter is the DisplayPort latching interface, and the other end is a USB interface and a DVI-D connector for connecting DVI monitor cables.
The DisplayPort USB cable connected to the dual-link DVI-D adapter is for power only and should be connected to the USB port on the back of the system. A USB hub may not provide enough power, so it is not recommended for use with this adapter.
